In recent years, the tradition of Black Friday has quickly changed from its original one-day event to a shopping extravaganza to what seems to be months before the holidays; Black Friday seems to start earlier every year. As I relaxed in my lazy boy after a long day of preparing for Thanksgiving cooking and school, I began to count all the black Friday deals on emails, commercials, and social media. It is wild to realize that this “frenzy” of discounts and deals may make people lose sight of what these celebrations signify! This rush for bargains, because I have been seeing or hearing information since October, it concerns me that it is time to pause and remember the significance of the upcoming holidays.
I love a good bargain and am not a “Debbie Downer”; I can not believe how many “sales” I have seen Black Friday, doorbusters, in one day, and lately I have seen many every day, etcโฆ It’s unbelievable!
