I was born in San Diego, California. I lived in Southern California until my adult years and into my first few years of marriage to my husband.
I clearly remember Junior High School. I needed an elective and had always had a “creative itch.” I chose the Home Economics class. I was excited because I knew I would learn to use a sewing machine. I Always wanted to do crafts, cooking, and sewing with my grandmother on my father’s side. My whole family on my mother’s side, including my mom, grandmother, aunt, etc., on my mother’s side were all interested in nursing and medical fields, and my uncle was a Doctor. I felt like I was the only one who loved creativity and not the medical field. That little Home Economics class turned into the love of sewing, embroidery, quilting, you name it, I enjoy or have tried it.
I started an embroidery silk screen company in 2008 and started doing small items because of my full-time work status. It quickly became too much to handle independently, as I ran everything myself. I hired a couple of ladies who helped me through the large jobs.
After a 20+ year career in education, I retired and moved to South Dakota to be near my children and grandchildren. I still run my business but downsized to only embroidery and vinyl items. I returned to college to explore Graphic Design.
