The image I created in InDesign shows Tony’s explanation in class yesterday. We are in the process of fine-tuning and finishing our booklet for the Portfolio Show. He explained why each page went where.
If you have a two-sided booklet, you would need the pages set up so that when turning the pages, even page numbers are on the left and odds are on the right. (For example, page 56 would be next to page 1, evens on the left, and odds on the right).
Thank you, Tony. You turned on a new lightbulb, and it makes sense to me how and why it is done this way. I liked the “double-check method” you offered when adding the pages together. They should always include your total number of pages plus one. (My example has 56 pages. The setup shows page 56 and page 1 together, which equals 57). Perfecto.
