Yesterday we received a review of the importance of white space. It is referred to as negative space. White space is where the image is not.
As the class watched a video, this reminded me that white space is a place of rest, its a pause. White space gives you silence , this allows you to concentrate on one item not many.
The best example he gave was the famous Apple logo. In the video it showed a photo with many images/items. When looking at that page you could not really even see the Apple logo then on the next slide you saw an image of only the Apple.
What a difference, I can understand now how it allows you to concentrate on the one item chosen for your audience to focus on.
So remember, the importance of white space you can not overemphasize it enough.
