I have my interview with Reva Graves tomorrow afternoon. I am so thrilled that she has given me some time out of her busy schedule to help me learn more about the company she works for and how she decided to go into Graphic design. How she climbed the ladder to get to be in the position she is in today. She is the Art Manager for The Sampson House in Sioux Falls.
I will ask some questions: Have you always been interested in design work? What qualities and/or what stands out to her when hiring a graphic designer? In her opinion, are there any new exciting developments in the industry? Where does she find her inspiration when designing for a client? How does she handle tight deadlines? What mistakes has she made as a designer, and what did she learn from that experience?
I have several more questions, and I will photograph her and the company’s surroundings.
I am taking a refresher course on my camera to get some fabulous images tomorrow and am nervous yet excited to do a story on her.
I generally have a much easier time writing about someone else and struggle writing about myself.
Wish me luck; it is time to get my skills rolling and showcase what I can do.
